IMG Aathangudi tiles :Athangudi village manufactures these tiles, hence the tiles are identified by this name. These tiles come in a myriad of colors and patterns, made by a unique process using local soil and glass plates. It is a testament to the rich cultural heritage of the Chettinad, effectively adapted many external influences to their own brand of local craftsmanship. Though the designs and colors used are of the bygone era, new designs and patterns are being tried these days. These tiles are hand-made, with a short shelf life and relatively slow manufacturing process. This had led to the decline in market demand.
