INDIAN VISA ON ARRIVAL OR E-VISA

Government of India decided to short list Visas into three categories viz. Work, Business and Tourism and further decided to bring in a system of facilitating and attracting tourists in large numbers by introducing a Visa on Arrival System. Indian Intelligence agencies too have given their approval mainly due to the provisions of Immigration, Visa and Foreigners’ Registration and Tracking [IVFRT] System.

This is not a Typical Visa on Arrival, but a system where the visa issued on arrival, based on Prior Online Applications drafted on the Model of Australian Electronic Travel Authority. Because many did not approve the term Visa On Arrival, it was renamed as E- Tourist Visa [e TV] in 2015.

Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Gaya, Goa, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Tiruchirapalli , Tiruvanathapuram and Varnasi Airports issue E-Tourist Visas on arrival.
