Apart from electrical, electronic and mechanical gadgets from early years to the recent times, The Motor bike bought from an English revenue official [which he dismantled and re-assembled]; first electric motor by G.D.Naidu in 1937; early petrol car built by G.D.Naidu; Mechanical Calculator, Projection TV, Apple computer of 1984 are some excellent collection of exhibits found in this Museum. There is a separate enclosure with scientific exhibits kept for encouraging curiosity in Science for the children. Awards, medals and Trophies won by him are also displayed here. The same building also hosts the Indo-German Goethe Institute & UMS Training center along with other activities in this premises.

The Botanical Gardens, The South India Textile Research Association, VOC Park are also other places of Interest.

Places Of Worship


Temples 

Perur Temple : It is a Popular Siva Temple. The Sanctum – Sanctorum of this Temple was built by Karikala Cholan. Saivaite Saint Sundarar sang hymns in praise of the Lord here. The famous Kanaka Sabhai was built by Alagadri Nayak of Madurai in the 17th century. The Swami and Amman Temples were renovated in the Middle of the 18th century. Panguni Uthiram [Mar-Apr] is a colourful festival celebrated with fun and fare. A “Treasure Trove” of Roman coins found during excavations indicates the historical connection of this area with the Roman period ,

Marudhamalai TempleMaruthamalai Temple : This Abode of Murugan, 12 kms from the city on a hillock on the Western Ghats, is dedicated to Lord Dhandapani. There is a small cave called as “Pambatti Sidhdhar Gugai”. This is one of the frequently visited temple of this region. The "Marudha Thirtam" and the"Pambatti Sunai" are the holy waters found on this hill. A Dip in them cures a number of diseases for they contain Medicinal Properties. Thai Poosam and Thiru Karthigai are festival celebrated with great pomp and gaiety. Phone:0422-2422490

Eachanari Vinayakar Temple : It is 13 kms from the City. This temple dedicated to Lord Vinayaka is worshipped by travelers moving further south, as it is believed, Lord Vinayaga protects them from any travel obstacles.

Karamadai Ranganathar Temple. Here Lord perumal is called as Aranganathar and also as Venkatesaperumal, Goddess is called Ranganayaki. Brahmmotsavam in Masi (February-March), Ramanuja Jayanthi, Vaikunda Ekadasi, Navarathri are the main festivals of the temple.
