Anna Memorial Kancheepuram : It is the
birth place of Dr.C.N.Annadurai, Scholar, Statesman and former Chief
Minister of Tamil Nadu. He is popularly called as Arignar Anna too.
Later in 1980 this house, where Anna was born, was converted into a memorial
exhibiting his statue, photos and life history.
Kanchi Kudil : It is located at Sangeetha
Vidwan Nainar Pillai Street (Old Putheri Street) Kancheepuram. Kanchi Kudil
was born of a desire to turn nearly 100 year old ancestral house
into a place of tourist interest. While temples and monuments index the cultural
life of a city, the real soul of a place is to be found in its people and their
homes. The Tourist get a feel of the classical living of life in

Sakunthala Jaganathan Museum of Fork Arts : It
is a 400 year old ancestral home of the Damal Family, maternal forefathers
of renowned scholar Sir.C.P.Ramasamy Iyer. This
house has been converted into a museum. Furnitures , Antique Dolls, Ancient Palm
Leaves, Musical Instruments, Pooja items, Lamps, Stone Sculptures, Paintings, Traditional
Dressing & Make-up Cases, Silk ,Cotton and Handloom men and women’s wear, Jewellery
and Indological Books are on display in this museum.
Places of Interest around Kancheepuram
Srinivasa Perumal Temple - Semmancheri : The Archaeological Department
confirms that the present structure could be around 500 years. But locals call it
a 1500 years old temple. It is located at Semmencheri on the Old Mahabalipuram
Road [OMR] 30 kms from Chennai. It is said that, a Pallava king
who lost his eye sight got back his vision on worshipping Srinivasa Perumal here.
Even now, people believe, that anyone with eye problems get it cured by worshipping
the Perumal here. This is also said to be a Prarthana Sthalam for
